New Bell 429s for NEMA and Police, and a Bell 206 for NCAT
Three new helicopters arrived at Lagos Airport this week. A Bell 429 EMS (5N-NEM) for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as well as a Bell 206L-4 (5N-BZC) for the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, where she will join her sistership 5N-BZB. The third, hidden chopper, a Bell 429 (5N-MDA), is the first of five helicopters of this type for the Police Air Wing.

The Third Bell, hiding behind in the pic is c/n 57084 and is in Nigeria Police scheme.
The third (white) helicopter is either a Bell 206L4 Long Ranger or a Bell 407. The easiest way to tell the difference is to see if it has 2 or 4 rotor blades, another way is to see if the horizontal stabiliser is square (206L) or V shaped (407)
For a helicopter buff, it’s actually very easy :)
Mistake corrected!
So, what about the car?
That’s for the minister for awarding the contract :)
You jest but you might be right!
Not when the aircraft is missing it’s rotors and it’s tail boom!! :)
The Rolls Royce Phantom must be for the Chief Pilot surely?? :)
What’s with the Rolls Royce though?
Might be the standard ‘Buy two choppers and get one Roller or is it a Bentley free’
The Rolls Royce was here in Lagos but is back at the airport and is being shipped back to whence it came. No reason known for this though! It will be leaving probably today as it was loaded back onto a dolly when I was leaving the airport.
Two better pics of the Bell 429′s are now available…
Links to the pictures please, my spotter’s hints were for fully assembled helicopters, otherwise you have to look for things such as window and fuselage shapes to tell the difference between a Long ranger and 407 fuselage
Thank you, Clive!
