Kenya And Afriqiyah Request Access To Abuja

Kenya Airways and Afriqiyah Airways are seeking landing rights at Abuja. Both airlines already operate flights to Lagos.

Meanwhile, Air Ivoire suspended its service to Lagos and EgyptAir has been cancelling flights in the past days due to the civil unrest.

Air Ivoire To Lagos, Arik Air Cancels Abidjan Service

Air Ivoire announced it will introduce a three weekly Abidjan-Lagos-Douala service from 31 October 2010.

Arik Air apparently cancelled the launch of a two weekly service to Abidjan, which was due to start on 28 October. Air Nigeria has a five weekly service from Lagos to Abidjan.

Asky Airlines Drops Lagos

The Togo-based carrier Asky Airlines no longer serves Lagos. The new airline only commenced three weekly services between Lomé, Lagos and Kinshasa in January 2010.

Air Ivoire never started the announced three weekly flights between Abidjan, Lagos and Douala.

Asky Airlines To Commence Flights

Asky Airlines will commence the Lomé-Lagos-Kinshasa-Lagos-Lomé route tomorrow. Flights can be booked through the website of Ethiopian Airlines, which also operates the flights.

Air Ivoire seems to have delayed the start of their new Abidjan-Lagos-Douala-Lagos-Abidjan route again.

Air Ivoire To Lagos From December 2009

Air Ivoire will commence three weekly flights between Abidjan and Lagos in December 2009. Outbound flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will be operated with a B737-500 and continue to Douala with a next day return flight DLA-LOS-ABJ.

Update: the service is postponed till January 6, 2010.

Nigerian Eagle Airlines is the only Nigerian carrier operating two weekly flights to Abidjan via Cotonou, as well as five weekly flights to Douala.
