Another Airport for Anambra State?

The Federal Government approved the construction of a new cargo airport at Umuleri by the Anambra State government.

It is unlikely that the plan will be ever put into effect. The state has already abandoned the airport that was being constructed at Oba a few years ago. Secondly, Asaba airport – just a few kilometres away over the river Niger – will open its doors next year.

Its better to atleast build something than steal all the money and lodge in Swiss bank accounts.Nigeria is a big country with huge population. The availability of the option of air travel is surely a welcome thing. Some of the airports would naturally be bigger than others. In America, there are airports in almost every American city! Not all of them service big planes. But they are vital infrastructure for the country to develop and move goods and mails quickly and efficiently.Nigeria has a lot to learn from the USA.

Anambra should go ahead and complete its airport first before Asaba airport recovers from the politics plaguing its completion.Who ever beats the other state in proving an airport would make the others’s airport a white elephant project.

THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE, DR. EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN, IS A MAN OF HIS OWN WORD. HE ASSURED HE WOULD COMPLETE THE AIRPORT PROJECT BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE AND HE HAS PROVED IT. TODAY,ASABA AIRPORT HAS ENTERED WORLD MAP OF AVIATION INDUSTRY COURTESY OF HIS GOOD LEADERSHIP QUILITIES WORTHY OF MY PRAISE. THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ANIOMA(DELTA NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT)SUPPORTED HIS ADMINISTRATION EVEN FOR THE THIRD TIME AT POLLS.
I AM URGING YOU OUR PROACTIVE AND UNBIAS GOVERNOR TO PLEASE LOOK INTO FORMER CABLE POINT MARKET DESTROYED BY FORMER GOVERNOR JAMES IBORI IN THE NAME OF BUILDING YET TO BE SEEN “ASABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET” THEREBY IMPOVERISHING THE MARKETERS USING THE MARKET.
IN TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT, THE GOVERNOR IS PLEASE REQUESTED TO BALANCE THE ENLISTMENT/RECRUITMENT INTO VARIOUS MINISTRIES AND ESTABLISHMENTS AMONG THE THREE SENATORAL DISTRICTS. THIS WILL BE APPLICABLE TO THE STATE AND FEDERAL APPOINTMENTS. IT IS ON RECORD THAT THE PEOPLE FROM ANIOMA AREA HAVE NEVER BEEN NOMINATED FOR FEDERAL OR AMBASSADORIAL APPOINTMENTS SINCE THE CREATION OF OUR DEAR STATE.
GOD BLESS DR. EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN; GOD BLESS THE LAW ABIDING PEOPLE OF ANIOMA; GOD BLESS DELTA STATE AND GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.
