Second Runway For Abuja Airport

The Federal Government approved a contract for the design and construction of the second runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The project was awarded to Julius Berger for the sum of N63.5bn and should be completed in 24 months.

    What is the length and orientation of this new runway? Hopefully it will not be parallel, because that orientation has been a mistake since they built the airport. The glidepath is straight into the mountain!

    Why is the contractor designing the runway? Isn’t there already a masterplan? At most the contractor should be constructing, the design should have been done a long time ago. Only in Naija peson dey clean yansh before dem shit.
