Arik Air To Resume Flights To London

Arik Air will resume daily flights from Lagos to London and five weekly flights from Abuja to London tomorrow, 22 April 2010. Services were suspended for a week due to the closure of the European airspace as a result of the volcanic ash cloud. Good news for travellers and hopefully the airline will overcome the financial damage. Various European airlines resumed flights to and from Nigerian today.

How is Arik doing on their international routes ABV – LHR, LOS – LHR & LOS – JFK by the way?

No idea. I believe that LOS-LHR is doing good, but LOS-JFK is still disappointing.

Arik adds two volcanic ash relief flights to London:

“In addition to our daily flight to London, we will be operating an extra flight on Saturday 24th April 2010 W3 6101 Lagos 4.00 pm – London Heathrow 10.30 pm W3 6102 London Heathrow 11.55 pm – Lagos 6.30 am and on Tuesday 27th April 2010 W3 6101 Lagos 1.00 pm – London Heathrow 7.30 pm W3 6102 London Heathrow 11.30 pm – Lagos 6.00 am”

I think they would benefit from some sort of partnership. Being they fly out of JFK, I would think jetBlue would be their best partner in that regard.

On the extra flight, I believe that is to relieve the stranded passengers in London.
