Asaba airport ‘ready’ for night operations

Asaba Airport is now ready for night operations according to state media, as the state governor switched on the runway lights. The airport opened in July 2011 and is currently served by Overland Airways and Arik Air.

    Asaba Airport has no published Instrument Approaches and there is no VFR at night in Nigerian airspace. Therefore, until the appropriate navaids are installed and instrument procedure published, Asaba airport is not ready for Night Operations.

    Also Asaba airport failed safety audits and is not even fit for daylight operations.
