Business and private jets based in Nigeria

In recent months, wild guesses have been made in the Nigerian press about the number of private and corporate jets based in Nigeria and/or owned by Nigerians. The NCAA will not provide the accurate numbers, but a list of identified active private and business jets is provided below. 1. Igbosere bomber says :

BMM belongs to Pan African as well

  2. Igbosere bomber says :

Glad to have been of help

  3. Igbosere bomber says :

Waiting for the inevitable Gulfstream G650 to arrive, I’m surprised we haven’t seen a BBJ or ACJ yet, or even the Lineage 1000, apart from the Hangar 8 one which made a brief appearance in May last year

  4. Igbosere bomber says :

    You also forgot “001” 5N-FGT

  5. Electro04 says :

5N-BOQ is owned by Pan African Airlines. 5N-IZZ is a Citation II (I think), owned by Izy Air but flies on behalf of Associated even using the callsign.

  6. Nathaniel says :

All these jets and yet after applying to some of these companies they cant accept on the job training (OJT) student, its so appalling.

  7. Igbosere bomber says :

5N-BMM was written off at DNPO last year an BOQ is her replacement.
Nathaniel try Bristow Helicopters or Pan African, they used to take OJT students before, but I can’t say with absolute certainty if they still do.

  8. Igbosere bomber says :

I was told they landed on Runway 21 @ DNPO and departed the runway. Emergency services had to cut into the fuselage to get to the passengers.

  9. Skywalker says :

Very nice database you are building here. No mention of the vista jets OE-IN(p,s,t,y),hanger8 G-CHAI, G-OCOD,G-OTAZ, or maybe they no longer ply or airspace. What about jet alliance they also operate/operated in our airspace OE-GNW, OE-HAC. Finally NCAT has a TBM850 Can’t seem to remember the reg.

  10. Skywalker says :

Oops sorry, just read ur fine print at the bottom on vistajet and others.

  11. ESHA VAKIL says :

  12. Nathaniel says :

Thanks @igbosere bomber for the concern, i have submitted there i’m waiting for their call up..

  13. tom says :

gembrook energy is owned by igho sanomi

  14. Ray Waight says :

Is Cessna 550 5N-IZZ a recent import from Austria?

  15. Alaba bham says :

I suspect NCAA will only be able to update its non Nigerian registered database from this site! You’ve carried out the task they should be doing.

  16. Alaba bham says :

Greg, the contributions of everyone on this site as well as its faciliation by aviation in Nigeria is top notch. Kudos to all.

    • LAF says :

That’s a labour of love. If you can, tuck this list in a nice table and doc it in a menu somewhere.
Can you go after the commercial jet census? This should be a lot more straightforward.

  17. Alaba bham says :

Which reminds me, how well do government agencies collects air space fees, ground and airport charges nowadays especially If they dont have an accurate database to utilise?

  18. Electro04 says :

    5N-MPB is a King Air 350

  19. Igbosere bomber says :

N368HK, Bombardier Aerospace but financed through the Bank of Utah Trustees like N565RS and N224BH??

  20. Igbosere bomber says :

We like to talk too much :)
The gist will come out eventually!
Have you wondered why our people are so samey and behave like sheeple?
Why no Lineage 1000s, or Private BBJs or ACJs or Piaggio Avantis etc??

  21. Mustapha says :

Harry Akande owns an Airbus A318 Elite with reg no VP-CKH. One of the Dantatas also own a citation jet with reg no 5N-UD

  22. Mustapha says :

I believe SAPETROL/TY Danjuma own M-SAPT a Hawker 900. What of Festus Fadeyi/Pan Ocean oil, I believe they should own a jet too.

    • Aviation in Nigeria says :

@Igbosere, maintenance may be a factor in choosing. But Akande has a A318, although it has never been spotted in Nigeria.

@Mustapha, many thanks. Akande and Danjuma have been added. Do you know the complete reg. of the Dantata’s Citation Jet? Is it the grey Citation Jet (N224BA) brought in late last year? The latter is also rumoured as belonging to IBB.

No clue yet about Fadeyi’s jet.

      What about Deinde Fernandez?

    • Greg says :

Mustapha, seems to me that SAPETROL is South Atlantic Petroleum, which is controled by Gilbert Chagoury.

That figures, because Danjuma has been known to chair many of the Chagourys’ businesses.

In the main listing, the Chagoury Group is listed with a Falcon 7X. That jet was the first off the assy line, continuing the Chagoury tradition of Falcons (a 900, and another 900 or 50 based in Paris and sometimes, their ancestral Beirut; in the past, a 200.) Source: Pro Pilot, circa 2006/7 (exact date escapes me).

Before the 200 was an early series HS125, if memory serves. And the Chagourys’ business interest: everything, brother, the whole damned works in Nigeria, Benin and Togo

  23. Naijajet says :

VP-CKH I believe belongs to National Air Service

  24. Mustapha says :

I don’t know much about Deinde Fernandez’s jet except for the fact that Ovation magazine once carried a story that he owns six private jets. N5-UD a citation jet should belong to one of the dantatas.

  25. tom says :

What of andy uba. ? I have spotted him in a certain challenger 300

  26. Greg says :

These two Ch 300s were white with red tail tip/tailplane and red lower body, and white with blue tail/tailplane and very thin stripes of many colours on the white body, at least in 2007/2010. But before trouble overtook him, the blue tailed one consistently brought one visitor to Benin City: Ibori, Ibori, Ibori (I mean James, the former Delta Gov)

  27. Igbosere bomber says :

Ah, understood, I’m not very clued up about the corporate aviation side of things.
To answer your question maybe anything that won’t bring income to them they’re not interested in?
Hopefully they’ll remember someday, that they forgot to put in a lighting system for 18L in Lagos instead of all the new Terminals they seem to want to build.

  28. Anonymous says :

N404SA is owned by MRS group
The the 368HK possibly owned by Jide Omokore
The M-Dara falcon is the one owned by Dansa Juice, because they have a Falcon
The M-Ubsa in Kano owned by Namco came as replacement for the vp-BFF which is now in storage

  29. Anonymous says :

IRS airlines have a challenger 604 VP CRI as well

  30. Captainb says :

Pls 3B RGT is owned by gtbank. they sold the challenger 300 and replaced it with 3b rgt

  31. Captainb says :

VP BJT is owned by triton aviation

    • Aviation in Nigeria says :

Thank you, Captainb, for your updates. The IRS Challenger should be very new. We’re linking N368HK with Diezani Alison-Madueke, who recently acquired a jet, but no hard evidence yet.

M-DARA is transferred to the Danish register: OY-???

  32. Igbosere bomber says :

Heliquip SA through their Helicopters Africa page on twitter are offering congratulations to their holding team for getting their Nigerian AOC. Anyone know what this is about?

  33. Captainb says :

The zs-zgv is actually zs-Sgv and owned by notore fertilizer/jite okolo

  34. Igbosere bomber says :

Probably are, wonder what they’re bringing in? On a related note any news about the 3 white and red Sikorsky 76’s at the ramp in Lagos?

  35. Igbosere bomber says :

Strange that, I have it on good authority that they belong to Hak Air!!

  36. skywalker says :

Is associated Aviation Still operating as an airline or what’s it current status. After checking on-line this is all I got.
I don’t know how recent this info is, anyone in the know should please give us some updates.

    • Aviation in Nigeria says :

That report is from 2009/2010, so a bit dated. However, it seems Associated Aviation has suspended all its operations (or at least its scheduled flights according a recent newspaper report). It has gone quiet since they announced the order for ERJs in June. The airline was sold to TAK Continental (owned by IBB?), and the current MD is Cordelia Ekwueme. All efforts to contact them have failed, and there is no news about the new ERJs. Has anyone spotted the Bauchi State aircraft (5N-BJM) operated by Associated?

  37. Greg says :

The TAK component flew a Lear 45, charter, 2010/2011, Nigerian crews, it seemed. Heard from an insider, that they still have plans for their EMB 120s, four machines. One of them did a flight (probably charter) in my presence, sometime in may/june

  38. Fellyson - operation Manager of African Aviation Services - UAE says :

I would like to have full contact of Sky Bird Air urgently. (such as phone, mobile, fax, e-mail etc..).. also confirm if this company is exist in Nigeria.
    thanks- Fellyson

  39. Fellyson says :

I need at least one phone number for SkyBird Air if possible, I would like to talk to them by any means, thanks in advance for your great supports… sorry for typing mistake

  40. oromidayo says :

does anybody know if there is a vacancy in any airline weather charter airline or not or any travel agency for ticketing position.

  41. Mustapha says :

I just discovered that Sapetrol/ Danjuma also own a Challenger 605 with Reg no M-SAPL.

  42. Mustapha says :

The M-SAPL is a Challenger 605 and not 604, please correct that. I also want to ask why there is no data on privately owned helicopters in Nigeria because people like Mike Adenuga and Dangote own helicopters.

  43. Igbosere bomber says :

Mustapha, it is hard to know about Privately owned helicopters unless you personally see them flying, are you sure about this?

  44. skywalker says :

stumbled across this flickr page with some recent shots of Abuja Ramp and some of these Jets. go through his photostream for more pics

    some pictures are low quality.

  45. Mustapha says :

What is wrong, is this blog no more functioning?
