Recent air accidents in Nigeria

In general, air safety in Nigeria has improved since the major crashes in 2005-2006, but still a number of serious incidents in which lives are lost and/or an aircraft is written off occur every year. Not all of them are reported in the press, and only three (the Sosoliso, Wings Aviation and Dana Air crashes) are mentioned on the website of the Accident Investigation Bureau.

Which of (other than the three already listed) the non security incidents / accidents have ongoing investigations when there is very little information in the AIB website? Does the AIB has the personel / skills and willingness to carry this workload? This is exactly what promotes cynism and deep mistrust in whatever outcomes are published.

Alaba, rather belatedly, I see the good in your concern for the progress of this country. Please keep it up. It might be hard to believe, but the fact is, the silent majority in this land are behind you

  3. Peter maji says :

    I want to be there

    • Alaba says :

Maybe AIB should subcontract the website maintenance out, for the hosting and updates. It cant take up more than 5 hours a week and the returns in terms of AIB reputation enhancement and professionalism would be beyond what they pay for the service.
